Neymar has begun the process of tapping up Philippe Coutinho by saying the Liverpool midfielder has the “style” to play for Barcelona.
In a vintage Barcelona move, Neymar has said that while there are many Brazilians capable of playing for Barcelona, Coutinho has a “style” that would suit the Catalan side.
Coutinho has emerged as one of Liverpool’s most important players after the sales of Luis Suarez, Steven Gerrard and Raheem Sterling, and many feel that the 23-year-old could be the next to follow in the footsteps of the aforementioned trio in leaving Anfield.

“There’s a lot of Brazilian players that could be playing for Barcelona,” said Neymar. “One of them is Philippe Coutinho. He’s a great player and he has Barcelona’s style,” he added, as memories came flooding back of the likes of Gerard Pique openly flirting with then Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas for about five years.
While illness has rendered Neymar’s start to the season a difficult one, the Brazilian forward has since returned and is looking ahead to emulating the 122 goals in all competitions that he, Suarez and Lionel Messi plundered on the way to winning the treble last season.

“I don’t know if I’m going to be the top scorer. What I look for in every season is to get better,” he added.
“Last season was fantastic for us, we’ve won a lot of titles and I scored a lot.
“So, this season I want to be better and to score more to help my team-mates and the team. First we have to think in the group, and then the individual results come naturally.”
Ritual HumiliationChief Football Writer John Cross (haven’t they all got fancy titles these days?) tells us on the back page of the Daily Mirror that ‘JOHN TERRY is facing the humiliation of playing in Chelsea’s second string in the Capital One Cup third round tie at Walsall’.
Alternatively, John Terry is probably quite looking forward to playing a game of actual football after 11 days of inaction.
Remind us, was it ‘humiliating’ when Oscar played in the Capital One Cup at the same stage last season?

Joy In RepetitionWrites Rob Beasley in his Aston Villa match report in The Sun:
‘Villa’s lack of intensity against West Brom was alarming. They had a group huddle before kick-off but it was a group muddle for the next 90 minutes.
‘There was an alarming lack of intensity…’
We make that two alarms but no surprises.
Thin Line Between Love And Hate‘NORMALLY at least one or two of the promoted sides look like relegation candidates. This year I’d hate to pick one out,’ says Jamie Redknapp in the Daily Mail.
Odd, as he didn’t hate to pick out Norwich and Watford on the Sky Sports website before the season began.
Worst Opening Paragraph Of The Day‘HEUNG-MIN SON was singing food glorious food after grabbing the winner against Crystal Palace’ – Pat Sheehan, The Sun.
He really, really wasn’t.
